Samba

a few months ago i installed Fedora Core 1 and XP on my system, and created a 10 GB FAT32 partition so i could read/write/store files on it using both Fedora and XP. the prolem i ran into was that linux, while it could see and read the files, could not manipulate the partition in any way. i was unable to write to the drive or manipulate the files, defeating the purpose of the drive. anyway, my networking instructor recommended i use Samba to do this, which i have absolutely no expiernce with. XP is already on my system, but i have 25 GB of unallocated space on my drive for a Linux OS. can somebody give me some pointers on how to go about setting this up?

I hate to say, but you are going to have to get used to Samba, as most versions of Linux are only capable of reading NTFS partitions. You could also try using one of the most recent versions of 'nix.
