pc wont turn on HELP
 Ive got a ASUS P5GDC Deluxe with a P4 processor(both are brand new). Im running xp pro and I cant get the pc to turn on. If you look inside you can see a a green light indicating that its receiving power but when I hit the power button I get nothing. Is this a tower problem or a board problem? I have a ATX case w/ 350 watt power supply, also brand new.

and you're sure your jumpers are set correctly?

have fun dawn... you were rude to me last time so I will just ...
check the connections.. that's all i'm going to say |
Well, do you have indicator LEDs to tell you the reason?
You must have the following to start up: power supply, motherboard, processor, RAM, video card, and fans (CPU and sometimes system). Always test system outside of the case on non-static bag. Connect only the required components (listed above) and you will be able to pinpoint the problem(s). |
I was going to suggest just that, take it outside of the case and see what's going on but keep it safe at all times.

Aside from looking at the cable connections, there is also a switch on the back of your computer (near the top) it has to be turned on, maybe it's as simple as that....
|
Not all power supplies have those switches.

True, but might as well mention it, and if it's that we'll know that somewhere someone slapped himself in the face for not turning it on :/
|
I would like to watch that person slap themselves...
At least they don't have it set to 220 volts... :P |
