Smartfilter is most likely not bypassable. It seems that it resides on the proxy server end rather then the client side. Heres a message that it chokes out whenever i visit a site that it doesnt like:

Quote:

The following error was encountered:

The message at the bottom (Starting with "generated fri..") leads me to believe that the browser is being forced through the proxy server (for my district its webproxy.psdschools.org) and the content is filtered there before it even gets to my computer. Also, IE settings are locked so I cant mess with the proxy settings (I dont even have a file menu!).

The IT people here arent noobs unfortunately

Personally im getting tired of filter bypassing problems......I know I was once one of these kids. But now I realise there's more important things than playing games at school...I never wanted to get to game sites when I bypassed the filter.

the only reason i use filter bypassers is to get to my forum whitch is blocked for some piss pore reason

o well...

SmartFilter is not different from Bess or WebSense. They are all filtered proxies. An easy way to get around any of them, including SmartFilter, is to use a separate browser through a separate proxy. These topics are starting to get annoying, they are all the same question with the same answer, but amateur computer users don't want to invest their own time to apply that answer to their situation.

yep at my old school they locked the internet options but at this new school i can basicly pick any proxy I want and surf the net filter free..!
