Chaintech to Stay in the Motherboard Market

Contrary to some news released earlier on a few sites, Chaintech will remain in the motherboard market. We have this first hand from our contact within Chaintech. Additionally Chaintech has just released a new motherboard based on the 945P chipset.

Taipei, Taiwan (September 12, 2005) -- Chaintech Computer Co. Ltd, a leading VGA card and motherboard manufacturer, today announced it is shipping the Zenith VE V945P, a mainstream Intel-based motherboard with many advanced features for homes, gaming/entertainment systems and business.

The new ATX form factor board is based on the Intel 945P chipset with the Intel ICH7 Southbridge, and supports Intel's new Pentium D dual core Socket 775 processors as well as recent LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 processors or Celeron processors.

The motherboard can run at 533MHz, 800MHz and 1066MHZ FSB speed with up to 4GB of dual channel DDR II memory installed. A single PCI Express x16 slot provides the graphical interface to deliver greater than 3.5 times the bandwidth of traditional AGP 8X interface and supports the latest high-performance graphic cards including Chaintech’s Apogee series PCI-E cards.

The board is easily expandable with two PCI Express x1 slots; three conventional PCI slots; and four USB 2.0 ports with two additional headers on board for an additional four USB ports. The ICH7 can also support two IDE devices, and four SATA II devices, which doubles the interface’s transfer rate to 3 Gbps. To provide more benefits and flexibility, Chaintech V945P has overclocking features for upgrading the system your need.

The Chaintech V945P has four 240-pin dual-channel DDR2 DIMMs slots, which deliver up 10.7 GB/s of bandwidth and 4 GBs of total memory for faster system responsiveness and support for 64-bit computing.

Onboard peripherals include a Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit LAN adaptor, and 7.1 channel Intel High Definition Sound. The integrated audio support enables home theater-quality sound and delivers advanced features.

Looks like this is good news for fans of Chaintech and PC users in general as competition is good for prices in the industry.
