I wonder if the tiny ground up coral in toothpaste is acting as a heat transferer.?

Interesting. Does it get all crusty?

Yeah, i would think after a while, the toothpaste would become old as eventually form into power substance, disinigrating off as it fell... you'd probably just have to recoat it every few weeks or something

I'll be keeping the toothpaste off of my Athlon for now but maybe on my K6-2

Now I never want to stifle experimentation, but I feel that I'll stick with my Arctic Silver 3.  $6.00-7.00 for enough to do about a years worth of CPU's that cost hundreds.

Yeah, same for me. I wanna know how much the temperature increased when it went on. One thing that should work well is ball-bearing grease. But like rivergod, I won't try that, $6 is worth Arctic Silver.

On a side note: Cheapo should set up an account as he has posted quite often for a guest.
