Help with ZIF Connector
 

Please can somebody tell me how to reinsert this ribbon cable from my printer back into this ZIF connector? I can't seem to figure out how to release it. It sure came out easy enough (hope I didn't damage it). Any help from somebody who's been thru this is greatly appreciated. It's an old Lexmark All-In-One that my mother uses. Thanks in advance.

I don't think that's zero insertion force. Sometimes, the side of them pops out, then you put the ribbon in place, and they pop back in. Sometimes, they just have to be forced in. I've encountered all kinds

Thanks for the reply. I just now got it; had been waiting on an email notification, but I guess I hadn't signed up for that. Not sure what you mean by the side of it....it just came out all at once. Do you think it just needs pushed back in? I sort of thought the what plastic bracket/housing needed opened?
