The Sorry State of Desktop Innovation in OSes @ OSWeekly.com
For the most part, Windows and the Mac OS have remained about the same for quite some time, at least in terms of the overall experience. Since Windows 95 hit the scene, we haven’t really seen too much advancement in the user interface of Windows. Sure, a bunch of new features have been implemented since that time, and the look of the OS is a lot slicker, but when you compare screenshots of Windows 95 and Vista, most of the basic elements have remained the same.
