Symantec Brands Spyware as a Trojan
In a report by CNET, a spyware application included with Limewire and Grokster called "Clicktilluwin" carries a program called "W32.DIDer" and has been classified by Symantec as a Trojan horse. This has sent makers of both P2P applications running to provide both a fix and an explanation for their respective users. Newsbytes also takes a look at the issue, with one member of the Grokster team stating: "We are normally given an installer from the advertiser which we run during the installation of Grokster. We have no access to the source code of these third-party installers and so we rely on what our advertisers say these programs do."
