WinLinux

Has anyone seen this yet?

Too hilarious, a friend sent this to me and said you gotta get it. At first it sounds pretty sweet but as you read on well not really.

If my eyes aren't decieving me I do believe it says you have to have Windows installed to use this product. So what's the purpose? DOH

Re: WinLinux

as far as I understand the main advantage of this thing is :
" ... installation and configuration tasks are performed directly from Windows using graphical tools."  DAH
why not to use pure linux ???

"... your hardware devices are detected and automatically configured to reflect your current settings and preferences" -> BeOS did that already, but what about non-typical or new HW, drivers, patches ...

I'm in doubt  8)

Re: WinLinux

The purpose is for the use of the terminal.  For those who don't know how to partition there hard drives so that they could program in C, C++, shell script and vi editor use, etc...

Re: WinLinux

WC,

Thanks for pointing that out. I wouldn't have thought of it that way after reading the content on the site.

I can understand it for that use, but what I interprited from the site was that it was a more stable "OS" etc to which it's not. It's more of an app then.

Hey what ever works for whoever is fine with me. Just couldn't help but snicker at the fact you had to have windows installed. Everyone wants away from windows so badly.
