it used to be halflife. i plaed the single player about 5 times, damn that was a good game. now im playing max payne its not bad, but is no HL. deus ex was cool too. i dont really have a favorite right now i guess

Definitely Unreal Tournament.
Just got Max Payne, but my computer is down, so I can't play it yet.  >:(

At the mo I'm into Counter Strike. Having played it for a couple of months now, Ive not found a game where the player co-operation and participation to be as realistic.  I know the rendering and detail are not upto current game standards but the game-play certainly makes up for it.

after much cajoling from my peers and your reccomendation i have relented and downloaded the cs patch for halflife (all 87 Mb) . i'll let you know how i get on.
