DDR or Rambus 4200

I am planning a upgrade this month to a p4 2.53. I have been trying to figure which way I wanna go with the memory. Here are the boards I have selected Asus P4T533 for Rambus or Soyo P4 400 Dragon Ultra. I have heard and read where rambus is faster than ddr. Most of my friends run ddr. My uncle (CiKoTiC) is running ddr with his xp 2200 and it is fast. While I'm at it should I get the msi 4600 or the Asusv8460 ultra 4600 for the vid card.

I really appreciated all the info you guys can give me

it depends on your budgets

RDRAM is really expensive
and has to be paired

Well, it depends on your use. If you are going to do stuff with lots of big files often, Rambus will suite you better, but for most things, DDR would waste Rambus, because Rambus has a relatively high latency time, which means it takes longer to respond, but once it returns data, it returns it very fast. That is why big files work better on Rambus (once it coems it is all there fast, DDR will be slightly longer), but not well on common files, for almost every application of the RAM.
