Hercules 3D Prophet 9700 Pro Review

Hercules changed some parts of the ATI 9700PRO. They changed the heatsinks and fan on the card. The orignal fan/heatsink was replaced by a heavy copper based fan/heatsink combo. This to provide better cooling. On top of that they placed on every memory chip and extra heatsink. Also on the back of the card there is another heatsink on the back of the VPU. All these extra's are there to get a more stable and better cooled graphics card.

The retail package contained the usual manuals, S-VHS-to-analog converter, some stickers and the addtional powercoard for hooking up the board to your powersupply. On top of that you get Morrowind (full version), ATI demos and PowerDVD. The retail price of this card is around 530 EURO's. But I have been watching pricelists online and you can get the card (here in Holland) for 435 EURO's. A hefty price for a videocard, but as we soon will find out, it is after all the fastest card available right now.
