Canoscan N670U
 

Hi!

I have just bought a canoscan N670U and trying to scan a contract with one of my salesmens signature so his customer can just print it out and sign it... I use the Caere App but is seems that i have to save and send it at a bmp not a doc. if i save it as a dok I get a weary strange dokument. I wonder if anyone could help me to save and send it as a .doc instead of bmp i hope it should be a quite easy task.

I believe you'll have to use what's called Optical Character Recognition (OCR), to save this as a .doc. What this technology does, is looks at an image the scanner imports, and searches for predefined patterns that it determines to be letters. It's not flawless technology, but it has improved quite a bit since its conception (sometimes it will say a a vn is a w, or something, but it's generally pretty good in my experience. I'm not sure exactly how your software will enable this, but look for OCR somewhere, and you should be set.
