I'm pretty sure you can be legally punished for this. You gained access to his private information without permission or a warrant. Even if you did find something out, it would be inadmissable in court, because due process was not followed to obtain the evidence. It seems to me that he's probably not going to follow through on this, if he's a deadbeat. If he's not paying child support, and he's legally mandated to do so, you had a case against him to begin with, regardless of weather or not he was partying.

Also, please don't talk in all caps. It's considered yelling.

crap like getting into someones email account isn't at the top of most police's list of things to crack down on... chances are it wont go very far, when i tried to brute force someones email email account ages ago i got a warning...[/i]

Fortunatly for this person, local laws at present are vague at best regarding hacking into someones email. However, it could be construed (at the DA's or CA's descretion) that this was an invasion of privacy which could lead to local charges being filed. The worst would be a misdemeanor charge being filed.

Proof of the alleged offense would be the burden of the procecutor. They would have to get telephone logs, server logs, etc... In addition, they would also have to prove intent.

Really, the judge is gona laugh being charged for hacking into someone else's e-mail is really not efficent. I really think it wont get far its a bunch of bullcrap, even if u get charges its just for getting into some'ones e-mail.[/b]

TheRogue 06-28-2003 04:52 PM

10:1 he didn't actually "hack" it

probably guessed his secret question

won't really stand up

Uranium-235 06-28-2003 11:08 PM

I think 'he' is actually a 'she'. and yeah, it's the dad's fault for not changing his info. the fact she could guess his secret question, means that she knows enough about him, and he should of figured that out and of changed his info
