I ordered my new pc today!!!!
everytime a ups truck drives by I run out to stop it. I can't wait.
I went with a dell 5.1 surround sound with a 95w subwoofer ( will complement my bose system very well! - a musical house I will have!) and it has a DVD RW - I can connect my digital camcorder to it to make movies or webcam with HIGH QUALITY! I also learned today that I can hook my new pc up with my bose system to have really AWESOME sound system through out my whole house. I am going to blow my neighbors away! I am like a kid at Christmas. Movies and Music. I am in Heaven. Oh and yes I can still program applications - an added feature.lol |
give us the specs did you get the new p4 with "HT technology?
what gcard? etc etc nice speaker set up you got there i envy you >:) |
yeah give us the specs
and the price |
good choice, I hope you like it as much as I like my new dell.
|
Ah, congrats on the new system. I know the feeling ;). Maybe you'll join me for a celebratory round of Q3 or some such thing once it arrives.

Here's specs. I am not going to tell price because I get special deals through work. (We all have Dell's)Plus I have two years interest free to pay it off.
I know it is not the top TOP of the line, but I could only afford so much. So I picked what I thought I would need for the future. 2.4 ghz Pentium 4 80g hd 4x DVD+RW+R with CD-RW 256MB DDR SDRAM 128MD DDR ATI Radeon 9700 TX graphics card w/ TV-Out Soundblaster Live 5.1 digital sound card (comes with 4 speakers and a 95w subwoofer) Logitech wireless keyboard and wireless optical mouse 18” Flat Panel Monitor Intel Pro 10/100 Ethernet 56k PCI modem |
(drool) definatly nice system. I think I've got the same base system but definatly got a lot more options than I did. That's a very kick ass system.

here is my input on what you got
That is a very nice system i have to concede. But you should of gotten the things that are easier to get and install and pay for them later. IE the speakers you could live with some small speakers for a few weeks while you get some dough. use the saved $$$ on more ghz The monitor, i think the monitors being flat and all are cool but they jack up the sales price a bit. what exactly is wrong with a big one. Unless ur a gamer going to LAN parties a lot and want less weight you didnt need it. Other than that you got a sweet system. But you gotta get priorites in order I still envie you >:) |
pretty good
things look great and it sure would last you for a long time atleast 2 years i estimate good choice |
Since you guys are going to criticize... let me tell you something.
1). the only place I have to put a pc is in a .. well.. it's a closet. The PC needs to share room with a printer and scanner and a ton of books and a file cabinet. I don't have a lot of room. That is why I went with the flat screen monitor. I need it to go further into the corner to give me a little more room. (Which is why I also opted for the wireless keyboard and mouse). 2). I need the dvd-rw. While most of you "really nice people" are hardware gurus. I build custom applications. The dvd-rw will allow me to save my larger custom applications onto a dvd without taking up disk space on my drive. (Not that I have to worry about that anymore, but then again... when I bought my current pc I didn't think I'd fill up my 3g drive either!) 3). I love music. I sing and play. Having the subwoofer is an added extra. I have an electric piano I can plug right in. God, my neighbors are going to hate me. I just love it! The extra g for me is not going to make much of a difference. I weighed all this before I made my decision. I checked on what the "latest" technology is today, did my pricing and then prioritized my needs. And asked you guys a bunch of stupid questions. For you all it may not be a good system, but for me ... It is AWESOME. :P |
