Outlook 2000 and filtering email to other machines
I have 5 machines with windows 2000 on all and all with office 2000 on.
I have a domain and want everyones email to goto their outlook on their machine. How would i go about this. I'm not using server 2000 i don't actually have one as i don't need one. Only one machine can dial up to the internet. I'm not bothered where the mail is stored just so i can access the mail on each machine. Any help would really help me Thank you |
Not a lot of info to go on but I'll offer a little assitance. But you need to provide answers to some questions before we can start.
First, are all the computers accessing the internet through one connection via ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) or a router? If so, does each machine have it's own email address? Second. Are you using an ISP? If so, will they (or have they) provided you with additional email addresses? Finally, when you say you have your own domain, do you mean you have registered your own domain name or have you setup a network with a PDC? (Primary Domain Controller) |
Only one machine can access the internet. But ICS could be set up if needed.
Also We can have anthing@ourdomain.com thats how we all have an email address. We have an ISP who we use to send the email and the mail is retrieved from mail.ourdomain.com We have registered a domain and we don't have a PDC |
Your setup should be straight forward then. Connect to the internet via the single compter and have the others use connect via ICS.
After all the computers have access to the internet, go into Outlook and setup each individual email account. |
so how do i only make then get their email and not everyone elses?
Is it better to use a mail server? |
probably
