Best I've heard is that it affects SQL servers. Patch has been out there, just needs to be applied.

Yea, I just got notified by my hosting company saying they were hit as well,. http://www.uplinkearth.com

I got this:
Dear uplinkearth Customer,

Network status has been restored to normal operation.

The cause of the outage was a result of a computer worm (a type
of virus) called “W32.SQLExp.Worm” that targets Microsoft SQL
2000 servers. This virus exploits a vulnerability in Microsoft
SQL 2000 servers with the intention of flooding networks with
bogus network traffic to slow network performance. Data housed
on Microsoft SQL 2000 Servers was not affected.

For more information about the virus see the following CNN
article (make sure you copy the entire link):

.html

If you are running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on your local
computer or network, download the patch from Microsoft here

(just to share)

I'm sure the dumbass that released it will ge getting aquainted with bubba from cell block C soon. He'll soon learn to love the meaning of "tossed salad" and "bitch".

When will these jerkoffs ever learn?

Prometheus 01-25-2003 09:44 PM

those jerkoffs will learn when GW becomes smart and fixes the economy instead of iraq let the UN deal with it

CiKoTiC 01-25-2003 09:45 PM

LOL!! UN.. what a joke!

Where was the UN after the Gulf War cease fire? Whare was the UN during Bosnia? Where was the UN during Somolia? Where was the UN in Haiti? Where is the UN regarding N. Korea?

Jeez, get a clue.

BTW.. What the the HECK does the US Economy have to do with some jerk releasing a worm on the internet?

eviltechie 01-25-2003 10:07 PM

UN is losing its power since it has been made

most of their divisions are concentrated on making the third worlds better for living

but seriously, peace is good
i dont like war and dont like big armies

and making a virus is just as meaningless and retarded as starting a war

CiKoTiC 01-25-2003 10:21 PM

Sorry, I just can't help but laugh when I see or hear of someone that actually thinks the UN has any power (or the will) to do anything.

I guess that's the veteran in me speaking. :P

eviltechie 01-25-2003 10:25 PM

calm down...

no one really suggested that UN is powerful
just calm down
lol

anyways
its peaceful individuals that solve the problems on the political level
by force, matters will not resolve the right way

thats why there are nobel awards for peacekeepers
:)

anyways
GW is trying to fix up the economy by trying to control the oil in iraq
it will all be crystal clear in 5 years
