acces denied files deletion
anyone know any programs to delete access denied files?i need to get some off my drive but i can't delete them.
|
dare I ask....what files?
|
they are on my old drive left over form windows and i don't need them anymore they are just taking up space.also i can't format it cause of those files.
|
Make a bootable floppy and put the old HD in alone. Boot to the floppy and then use mbr command with Fdisk. Use fdisk to wipe the partition and then recreate it. Format it and the HD will be clean.
You don't HAVE to use the MBR command but to be safe, do it anyways. And one other thing, make sure the boot floppy is write protected when you use it. If you boot up and something tries to write to it, you've got a virus. |
why not do a low level format on the hard drive
wipes everything nice and clean btw, low level format is NOT normal formating |
doubt i have a virus i got norton even though the virus might now have been reported on it yet.but idk the files are C:/Documentsandsettings and C:/Sysagent.i might try doin that cikotic but not right now cause i got xp and dial up so i gotta go throught the wait of downloading the files for floppy boot.i'm getting broadband in a week and a half though so i might do it then. but idk if i want to take the chance of something else happening to my rig.kinda nervous about it right now.if anyone has any ideas how to get rid of these files, shoot.BUMMER
