Help!!! LeadTek A280 causing probs
Hi,
The LeadTek A280(le) THL MYVIVO graphic card installed into ASUS P4S8X motherboard is causing me alot of problem. I have the latest SIS agp 1.3 driver installed on my comp and have set the bios' agp to 8x as well as flashing my MB bios to the latest v1.005 (i think tat wat it called). The graphics card would work fine without any problem (though the vga controller in my device manager is in exclaimation). However, i would not be able to play 3D games, eg counter-strike in open-gl mode. So i decided to download and install the latest LeadTek A280 driver (A280 series). Anyway, i downloaded latest nvidia G4 driver for winxp as well. After installing the LeadTek driver(A280 series) together with the nvidia G4 driver, my comp would hang when i start playing any 3D games and even in windows, my screen would keep fickering. I installed all the latest driver but still the graphic card is not working. Wat the hell is wrong??? BTW i'm using an 15 inch Philips LCD. Can anyone pls help me.... |
Leadtek A280 - Flickering Screen
hi, I got the same problem using a KT4V motherboard and the Leadtek A280LE VIVO. It works well by undercloaking the frequencie down to 200MHz and using screenmodes as low as 800*600.
BTW, it's not a real solution. If you've got any better, write me ! powerpsy@hotmail.com Sam |
Faulty?
I have had a lot of problems with these cards. There seem to be a lot of faulty cards. Maybe you should get a replacement from where you bought it?

Has anybody found a solution to this problem yet?
I'm experiencing the exact same thing. I initially purchased the card new on eBay. After discovering the flickering problem (and underclocking, as you did), it seemed somewhat better... But, I wasn't happy with it, so I had the seller exchange it for another. The replacement did the same thing, so I figured it was a mainboard incompatability and decided to put up with it. In November, I started having more trouble with it. SimCity 4: Rush Hour were suddenly displaying random pixels (artifacts) over the screen...just out of the blue...never happened before that. Games and programs seemed to be running chunky, too. I updated drivers (new Detonator, DirectX 9b, AGP117), but the problem persisted. So, I RMA'd it to Leadtek. While they were sending me a replacement, I had my old GeForce256 card in...no problems whatsoever (no flickering, either!). However, after installing the new card I received from Leadtek today, the problems started all over again...including the random pixels. It's driving me nuts. It's obviously not a motherboard incompatability, because everybody I've read about who's having trouble with it is using a different mainboard. I've seen posts at several other sites with people who are in the same predicament. Here are my specs: P4 2.53 GHz Shuttle AS45GTR Motherboard 512 MB DDR333 RAM Leadted Winfast A280LeTDH Happy Holidays, BTW! |
my advice to all of you.. sell the card and get a different one, sounds like the card is clocked way too high at stock!
