Why have guest posting option?
 

Seems that the guest option isn't needed, given how easy it is to signup for an account. You are just letting people abuse the priviledge.

I always has guest posting enabled to allow users to get help for problems without having to register. I would have to agree that it is very simple to sign up for an account before posting.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

why bother with it?

its fine the way it is
and since there is IP tracking on guests also, there shouldnt be much trouble

guests can do things registered users can not.. let your imagination roam on the possilbities there! :shake:
