Lets see which company techware users like most...

:shake: People dont (i hope so anyway) buy a processor because they like the company, nobody buys anything because of that, they buy it because of the product offered. The product fits their needs, budget, etc. AMD has the gaming market imo only because of the nforce2 chipset. They is little price difference anymore for the top chips and with amd cpu's running so hot and being clock locked, etc. I am in no hurry to ditch my p4. What keeps Intel #1 for me is well, everything except not having the best chipset. Intels are the easiest to OC imo, run cooler, their chipsets have more capabilities (such as 1 gig lan and RDram for example) After i bought my setup, I didn't follow new hardware and products like i did before i bought everything (go figure) so maybe i'm not as informed as some of you may be. But from my vantage point all that i can see is slop coming out these days. CPU's that don't go with this, chipsets that dont go with that, nvidia falling straight down the sewer, ATI craping out one lousy driver pack after another, Creative forcing you to have the original CD to install drivers, LCD's continuing to be sickingly overpriced, i could go on, so i degress, the point is, You shouldn't like a product because of the company (though amd's marketing procedures sicken me) It should be about the end product, benchmarks and your enjoyment out of the product. Let's settle this lame fireball vote and vote via! (though i voted intel) 8) :firedevil:

...maybe I didn't make it clear enough :rolleyes: ; this is a just a simple poll that won't alter your life in any form, not a debate. Its just to see what company people have used and/or stuck to in the past. Well since you started it, I have 1 comment: maybe the ati drivers wouldn't be so crappy when you try to install them while you have your vid card overclocked like yours :nod: There is nothing wrong with Catalyst 3.2(with me and anyone I know at least).

Overclocked or not ATI's drivers can suck wind some times. Some people get lucky, me, I've had problems with both, on clean installs, without overclocking. Sometimes you get a good hardware match sometimes you don't. As far as chips being easier to overclock, Intel had patented a device to make it impossible to overclock your processor. Who knows when it'll roll out but they at least have spent money to develop and patent something none of us overclockers will like. Shows that as a company, intel, doesn't care for our community that much. AMD's do run hot, but with a descent cooling solution heat can be overcame. What I like is AMD has taken the initiative with AMD64. Can't wait for the desktop hammer to come out. I use processors from both camps (even got a cyrix I still run). It's a matter of your needs and wants. But the fact is without AMD around intel would not have pushed as hard as they have and without both companies we would not see the level of inovation that we do today.
