Extracting Data from Corrupt/Unreadable CD
In attempting to back up about 800-900 MB's of files (many of the large files were compressed), I started to burn the files to CD. Sometime during the process, an error occured and now the CD has become unreadable by normal means. Since the CD uses the Joliet filing system, I know that it is possible to recover the files on the previous sessions. The problem is that I can't find any [free] software to do it. Please tell me if you know of any free titles I can use. Thanks!

Do you know specifically of any non-free software that does the job? If you do, I might be able to find a copy [cough cough] laying around somehwere...that I purchased, of course...that I could lend you...if I'm not using it at the moment. [cough cough] Hm, I hope I'm not getting sick again.

I found three titles that all read the data (plus one that just said that it was beyond recovery  ) but since they are all demos, I had to use a keygen on one of them. The three that I worked are:
Arrowkey's CD Rx Data Retriever Jufsoft's Badcopy Pro Naltech's CD Data Rescue I am still hoping to come across a free program for its purposes. |
