Linksys Wireless

I am using a linksys wireless router and have noticed a gradual slowdown of my internet and want to know if there is anything i can do to fix this.

Is there some sort of cache i can clear for just the router. So far I've tried clearing cookies, history, temp files, defrag, deleted some programs but it is still very slow and i have frequent loss of connection(not good with online games) and a very slow internet.

Any help or is it just going to stay this way?

Do you think it could have anything to do with the internet itself?

Yes i'm sure. Before i had a router i had the modem fromt he same provider. It never went off and was much faster.

Did you install the software that came with your wireless card? If so, remove it and use only the built in XP software. I had installed the software, and I was experiencing slowdowns, but with the XP built in, it works fine.

If you have another client on the LAN, see if you're getting horrid LAN speeds. Also, if you have another client on the LAN, make sure they're not using the internet connection, when you're saying that it's slow.

You can try rebooting the router, but I highly doubt that's your problem. Run some speed tests like this one, and come back with some specific information (ex: my line speed is rated at xxxx/xxx, I used to clock it at xxxx/xxx, and now it clocks at xxxx/xxx, I'm the only client on the internet connection, I'm using Windows XX, I'm using XXXX NIC, and model XXX router/AP.)
