hp pavilion 7925

i have a hp pavilion 7925 which came with win xp installed ,,since purcasing we have formatted maxtor hard drive and tried to install winxp but it wont install,,, any ideas please

now the hp pavilion dosent recognise anything ,i looked in bios and it shows no hd or cd rom ,what do i do ,someone help me please

Try this. Put a boot disk in the floppy (a:) drive and it should allow you to get to the dos prompt. Note that the boot disk should load the drivers necessary for the cdrom to work. Put the XP cd rom in the drive and try to switch to the drive that is your cd rom. d: or whatever. type setup or install. should start installing your windows XP if the drive has been formatted correctly.
