Dell Screws up, Offers Axim for $79

Seems Dell make a small pricing mistake on their new Axim X3i on monday night, offering the Axim for $79 instead of $300. Then after pulling the Ad and replacing it with the same price even more oders came in. They pulled the ad early tuesday morning and will not honor the pricing mistake.

Check out the full details here.

the problem with this is that brick and mortarstores usually seem more likely to honor mistakes of these kinds because they have to deal with the customer on the spot. If Dell can just not pick up the phone, it makes it a lot easier for them to ignore customer backlash. I know plenty of times that in a brick/mortar store that they had significant pricing discrepancies and the manager is very happy to quickly take down the sign and keep the customer happy by giving him the price that is promised. If you can't trust what is posted, why bother reading it?
