Window NT server 4.0 Boot : couldnt find NTDLR !! help
Hi everyone,
as above mention i having this problem right now. As my boot active partition is format as NTFS i cant use DOS to retrive or replace the corrupted file. But however i have the EMERGENCY recovery disk with me and i tried to use the disk. Once IT BOOT up wif the disk, another error occur saying " Wint NT could not be started becoz of followinf file missing or corrupted : <WINNT root> \System 32\ntoskrnl.exe Please reinstall a copy of above file " Afther which , the whole thing hang at that moment.. SO desperately for help... can anyone help me thanks... |
if the ntldr is messed up, it's not too hard to get a boot disk that will get you back into your OS to repair it. I haven't had a whole lot of experience w/ NT 4 (geez man, can't u upgrade?!), but if you can do a repair install, i'd try that. it sounds like, however, that you have multiple files that are corrupt. maybe your harddisk is dying and it's telling you to throw it in another computer and run backups immediately. or u might have a virus destroying all those essential files. either way, if repairing your installation doesn't work, i'm pretty sure format and reinstall is in ur future

I would.. but I have a hunch that'd give away some info I don't want to give out... just do the "repair windows" thing..
