Keyboard Mod Idea

When the scroll lock discussion came up I though of this cool keyboard mod idea.  Would it work if I strung neon lights inside the keyboard and then hooked them up to the power that normally feeds the scroll lock LED?  Then whenever you would turn on or on the useless scroll lock it would turn your lights on and off.  Cool idea hey?

i wouldn´t recommend to hook it up directly to the scroll lock power ´cause it´s rated about 3 volts and 20 ma for one single led. maybe connect through a optocoppler ( i hope it´s named so in english) or an electronical relai (need far less power than a mechanical one) because if ya hook it directly you would mybe burn you keyboard or the PS/2 connector of your motherboard (or even the entire board). that would be shit, but the idea rulez ;D. tomorrow i´ll start a prototype ;D (if you don´t mind to lend me ya idea)

whats so cool about that , add two wires to ya keyb. cable using split loom, connect them to the pins of the led, cut the leads on the pcb that supply the led normally and hokk the wires up to ya hdd led header, done ;D

Oh come on, theres a whole world of modz out there and your still messing with the keyboard.  Just pick up 3 ft. of GloWire, pull off your keys and run it through-out the inside, find a place for the power adapter inside the keyboard, wrap the power wires around the PS2 wire going back to your system, and throw a 1/2" wire loom protector around it and run it to power in your system.  Wallah, Peace out.
