Memphis, TN....
 

hey people.

i may have a job opp in memphis, tn. i was curious if anyone lives in/around memphis. i've never been there, and wanted some info from someone who lives there.

I live in Starkville, MS. I've been to Memphis quite a few times, including when my band had a gig there last month. It's a fairly large town with a fairly large ghetto. We refer to it as Memphrica. There is a website, http://www.memphrica.com/ on it as well.

been there done that prom. i'm looking for actual inhabitants opinions.

possibly moving to a city that i've never been to before, i dont really want to entirely trust google or any website for that matter.

google is the right answer alot of the time, but not all the time.

thank you gnogtr. so, is memphis mostly ghetto, or just part of it rather gehttoish?

i'm living in montgomery, AL remember - deep south ghetto is somthing to behold. so i'm used to driving through it to get to work here.

Then you'll be ok, just keep your doors locked. The ghetto is between the suburbs and the inner city. If you live in a community like Bartlet or German Town, you'll be ok, there is a straight shot into the city. It's really according to if you plan on living in "West Memphis" (Arkansas) or "East Memphis" (Tennenssee)

it will most likely be in tennessee, but i dont know if i even have the job yet, just been contacted that they were considering me.

All of Memphis isn't bad. If you are considering moving here, you need to check out the Bartlett, Cordova, and Germantown areas. They are very nice. The downtown area is also very nice, but it is on a street by street basis.
