Jason425 03-07-2004 05:14 PM

Dragon 03-07-2004 05:20 PM

cool. no pun intended.

Dragon 03-07-2004 05:24 PM

whats the chance of one of these "oopsing" ive got a friend who custom built a kit and went through 4 video cards - his error or thiers?

Jason425 03-07-2004 08:34 PM

probably his.. but i'm no water cooling expert..

gnogtr 03-07-2004 09:19 PM

Definatly his. I installed a Swiftech block on my system (video and cpu) and if you don't install the block right, or put thermal grease on there properly, you'll burn it up.

Jason425 03-07-2004 10:11 PM

mmmmmmmmmmm burning chips...

chance of oopsing isnt that big
the thing about watercooling is you need a big case if you are putting somehting inside

components are expensive too
the only think that i see worth paying for is the pump and the blocks
as for the rad, i would go for a heatercore instead and get it from a junkyard for cheap or even free as long as it doesnt leak

heatercores can be big though and hard to mount inside a case
im planning to do some surgeries to my case if i can get my hands on a heatercore
perhaps do my own external kit but it would be non removeable and attached to the case itself

i took a look at the swiftech kits - soon as i get the money...

thx guys
