Xp on a 355mHz
I heard it was a bad idea to run Windows XP on my P2 355mHz processor.
I also heard extra RAM can fix the problem, but I havn't found any problems yet. Is any of this true? |
you can do it.. it'll prob just be a bit slower though.. that can be minimized by getting rid of extra stuff xp uses
|
Make sure you have at bare minimum 256MB of RAM, preferably 512MB. What speed is your hard drive (ATA66 I'm assuming). Also, go to System Properties > Advanced (tab) > (Performance) Settings > Adjust for best performance. That'll help lag. Under Display Properties go to Themes (tab) and select Windows Classic.

I have a friend that runs xp on a 233MHz with 192 megs of ram with no major performance issues.. funny :/

yeah but, chances are you cant run ut2004 or anything
|
