how do you know if a hacker hacked in your computer?
 

ok i went to the hacker lounge in a yahoo messenger chat room and i instant messeged someone trying to get help, and he said that he was gonna hack in my computer but i dont know if he was joking, i have zone alarm pro 4, i keep it updated and the security settings are on high. I was just wondering how to tell if i was hacked or anyone for that matter. can zonealarm pro 4 be breached in any way by any type of hacker no matter their skill level is? plz help me :(...

i doubt he was an actual hacker.. he just wants to freak you out.. think: why would a real hacket sit around in a hacking chatroom trying to scare everyone.. Zone alarm pro has intrusion detection and I think you can track him down with zone alarm if he does something illegal.

Real "hax0rz" dont brag because they can do jail time he was what we call a tourist one who hangs out with hackers to claim the title of hacker btw i doubt that room has any hackers in it

Most people who ask us to "get their password back" are just trying to get us to hack their girlfriend/boyfriend/buddy/whatever so that they can snoop or appear 'leet'. Every good hacker on here gets a few of these a month. We ignore them or if we think the guy was telling the truth, like you, we tell him how to *legitimately* get their ID back. Which, BTW, is something you should be able to figure out for yourself if you bothered to use your brains for more than something to keep your ears from knocking together.

You're just way too convinced that you're the center of the universe and that everyone should stop and do your bidding. Understand that we're not here to hack at your command. We're here to enjoy each others conversation and learn from each other.

A tourist is someone who buys a membership to "hang out with hackers" or that thinks he can "hire a hacker". ok in za pro 4, when i goto the hackerID, some of the whois information is from comcast communications inc, broadway communications inc, and some other companies, also it shows the city name, how do you tell by just looking at the whois hackerID information to see if its a real hacker not just ping or port scans?

okay in zone alarm you know turn the settings from low,medium, and high for the firewall settings? well when i turn my firewall off, and do the testing at grc.com it says all my ports are still stealthed. I was wondering what is stealthing my ports if my firewall setting is off....

the windows firewall might be enabled.. also, zone alarm might have put some settings on to hide those ports. (even though it's off)

i have windows 98 se, i dont think this operating system came pre-installed with a built in firewall
