Dual Core CPU from AMD
 

Would you like to have dual processor power at the price of a single processor? And without the need for specialized motherboards? AMD has a 2-P core coming up thats going to be hardware-compatible, infrastructure-compatible, and pin-compatible.

I can see companies jumping from the Intel ship now. It will be interesting since Intel and AMD share designs, Intel has already used AMD's X86-64 instruction set, wonder if they will jump to AMD's dual core design as well? If they do, will you say your box has an "Intel Inside" or an Intel Designed by AMD Inside" ?

That would be so crazy... think about it.. dual Athlon 64 3400+... OMG BLARGHHHHHHH...

Athlon 64?? you think too little. Im thinking dual core 939 with 64meg L1 and L2 cache, theres an ATI 10000 Pro XT built into the chip as well. And who can forget the on chip Phase change cooling, just plug it in, no heatsink required, and it runs at -15C. Of course it will OC about 500% to a rip roaring 20GHZ. Preliminary 3Dmark03 scores are in the 20 to 50,000 range. And if you wait till Q4 this year they will have the 4P cores. with dual PCI Express built in at 16X speeds.

How is it designed by amd? Intel came up with hyper threading first...

the x86-64 instructionset was AMD's design, Also AMD was first to market with a consumer level 64 bit chipset. Amd will be the first to market, speak about, and offer a dual processor in one package consumer level chip. Thats how. Hyperthreading is an Intel thing, but its highly overrated.

Hyper-Threading isn't using dual core's but simulating the use of such twins. It was proposed that Intel copy AMD on another thing for the upcoming generations by using two actual cores rather than one and abandoning the propoganda that is Hyper-Threading.
