building a perspex computer case
 

hi guys im building a perspex computer case, and i plan on using a tool (forget what its called) to heat the perspex, then bend it at a 90* angle 4 times so that it joins and makes a rectangle/square shaped box, then i plan on getting 2 pieces of perspex and placing them on the backs and front of the square/rectangle.
My question is... what size do you recommend that i use to build this case, and is it possible to get a plan of all the measurements to use as a draft copy so that i can get a few ideas off it, if you have any suggestions, please post i would really appreciate it, cheers ;)

Well i take it that you are going to want a normal ATX motherboard correct?
Also it would be helpful in knowing what kind of tool you are using to bend. But first, From my understanding you want to buy a sheet of perspex and bend it 4 times so that it makes a box and then by 2 side panels seperately?

Ok so, A normal Mid-tower sized case is 18" Height x 8 1/2" Width x 18" Depth.

So from that information: Buy a sheet of perspex that is 72" by 8.5" (which I dont even think they make) so measure 18 inches 4 times on your 72 inch sheet and bend it on every measure. Then go buy your window kit for both sides.

SUGGESTION: Spend the extra 80 dollars on this

You need to at least make it a full tower because you're going to want to put a liquid cooling or vapor flow system in it.

im probably not going to, i want it small and compact so that it fits a server computer, also its for a design and technology major design project so we have to build it ;O, but thx for suggestions guys

hahaha yea that is a nice case.... but sadly no funds to buy it with. Sometimes i just go to Newegg.com and add parts to my shopping cart just for fun. But now im obsessed spending hours tryin to find the best deals, the best performace for the cheapest price... I just need a job i guess...... :wavey:

heh yea I do that too.. it's fun stuff.. until you remember that you can't buy it ;)
