amd 64 mobo

ok i am looking to get a new amd64 3000 but cant decide what mobo to get. i have been looking around and got some ideas to which mobos are good

i have read that the nforce3 chipset is better than the via k8t800 but dopnt really understand any advantages it would have.

ok now these are the motherboards i am concidering:
1) gigabyte "ga-k8ns pro"
2) epox "ep-8kda3j"
3) asus "k8v se deluxe"
4) abit "kv8 pro"

any other suggestions as to other boards i have not listed would be much appreciated

if you're lucky gnogtr will help you here.. since I couldn't care less about AMD or their mobo's I don't know the answer to your questions.. but i'm sure someone here does

The Asus K8V is the one that I have. I love it, great overclocking functions, Asus brand, etc...I recommend that board because I've heard that it is the fastest as well.

I'd definately say the only two of those that I'd suggest are the Asus and the Abit.

I just ordered the Giga-Byte GA-K8NSNXP with an AMD64 3000+.

gigabyte is doing great now
asus is sucking lately and is NOTHING compared to the quality they had before

even newegg realized that and invited gigabyte managers to sit at the main tables at newegg's banquet earlier this summer
and put the asus guys somewhere behind
asus realized their problems as well and felt ashamed in that banquet
lol

gg mr. insider trader @ newegg banquets in canada..... :/

but one thing is certain.. asus has the worst tech support.. period.. I don't care how bad everyone else is.. at least they know english..

The Giga-Byte boards are so feature rich that it's hard to overlook them. Granted they are not the "best" overclocking boards, but they do overclock decently which is fine with me. The trade off for the extra features is well worth it in my book.

The board I ordered for the AMD64 has duel NICS (1 gigabit, 1 10/100), 8 channel audio, SATA and IDE RAID, Dual BIOS, BIOS level disk imaging for backup and restore, 6 phase power, and the Nforce3-250 chipset.

It was a little more than I normally pay for a motherboard but since I can afford it right now I said "what the heck".

:)
