CS frames

I have a 6800, and i am only getting 60fps in cs??? whats up with that? I get more frames in Doom3 than countertrike... My monitor resolution maxes out at 1280x1024 and i think i put everything on the highest settings... I know others who get 100fps and more on CS... so how do i fix this?

Uranium-235 08-22-2004 08:38 PM

it's simple. we trade video cards. That's the best way to fix your FPS problem in cs :)

Napster 08-22-2004 08:49 PM

hahahaha lol, speaking of trading... does anyone want a geforce4 ti4200 128mb? you name the price.... But anyways i want cs to look good so what do i do?

Uranium-235 08-22-2004 08:54 PM

I want it for $4. is that ok?

bleh. If it was a 4600 128M 4X, I would so go in for it.

Try switching API's in Steam (that's what I'm assuming you're using)

Options -> Video -> Renderer

oh wait a second here. There might be a framecap in place (60 is common). I dunno, I can't find anything on google referring to the framecap

dude.. just OC the 4200 to 4600.. i don't understand you non OC noobs.. anyway, make sure you have the "win xp 60 fps problem" fixed with some refresh forcing problem and/or make sure fpx_max is not at 60 and that v-sync isn't on.. and some monitors @ 1280 can only do 60..

Prometheus 08-23-2004 06:42 PM

CS is locked @ 60fps I believe I am not sure........

We dont want to take a risk of frying our system

CiKoTiC 08-23-2004 06:46 PM

Turn off vertical sync.

Jason425 08-23-2004 06:51 PM

it is not locked(in fact, type developer 1 to unlock the 100fps lock.. you can make fps_max anything when developer 1 is on..), but it (as we see here) tells you when you have a refresh rate problem..

Prometheus 08-23-2004 07:02 PM

how do i find out my FR?

Uranium-235 08-23-2004 07:47 PM

Some monitor's settings panel will show your refresh. Mine does (which helps alot in certain situations). Other then that, I don't know :/
