quite a few reports lately on /. have been sayin the opposite, mp3 sharing sometimes promotes music and people going to buy music;

though i haven't bought a CD in years.. but even without mp3 sharing i probably still wouldn't of as ive spent most of the last few years in debt to parents anyway

also the reports blame the music industry anyway, like alot of the econmy they are in decline, also the DVD and gaming industry are growing
