ditto.. you need to do some research on what linux actually is

there are a few windows 'emulators' (in speech marks for a reason!)

WINE = Wine Is NOT an Emulator - the main "emulator" for getting games to run in linux, open source

CrossOver (stuff, can't remember what the actual product name is) - this is commercial, but do contribute some code to WINE, it mainly does stuff like office, but ive heard of stuff like sims being used with it...

VMWare - lets you install a windows onto your linux partition and run it in a window, not sure how it does with games..

atm linux for me is just for server, i like my XP desktop for now, and i'm too lazy/busy to try and get games working

until wine becomes much easier to use (i attempted it once with mdk, couldn't figure it out) so its down to n00b level windows is going to stick as the desktop choice for the masses due to games... i know some games like UT2k3 have linux versions.. but IMHO its linux's ONLY weakness against windows on the desktop
