i will be installing debian this week ( never done it before ), once that is up and running well i will be installing freebsd ( done it once ), if that bootloader is kinda cheesy then i'll go to xosl and if that sux i'll try the ones you suggested

i changed the way i'm setting it up a bit:

wd 30 gig: 20 gig win2k | 5 gig debian | 5 gig freebsd
