I like Mark Twain but that's the stupidist quote of his I've heard. The loud est mouth public I hear just say it's bad. I don't hear the supporters for war yelling and having large protests. When was the last pro-war rally? That doesn't make a damn bit of sense. The anti-war idiots don't even know what's goin' on. They don't even have the intelligence to know why they just want to be a part of something and jump on the bandwagon. Saddam has gassed his own people. http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9609/01/kurds/index.html This is pre gulf war but proves this man has no bones about using WMD. He can, he will, he has. Do you really believe after 12 years of run arounds that he will willingly give up such power? Honestly, can one person here tell be they believe that man will? It isn't a matter if will he gas, poison or nuke people, he has already proven he will. He has. His own people are starving because of his lack of cooperation with the outside world, yet he spends lavish amounts of money on his palaces and weapon programs. Will people die? yes. That is what war is. People dying and things being broken. But is ask you, how many more people stand to do from inaction? The US rebuilds the countries it invades to better than they were before. Look at West Germany (now one but wasn't 15 years ago). Ages ahead of east germany, trust me I have been there, don't know how many else where, I've been down the streets of Berlin, big diffrence between east and west. Look at Japan. We nuked them, nuked them. Do you know how long it should have taken a country to recover from that? Yet they are a technogical power to be reconed with. Can any honestly say if we went in, all the way this time, that they feel we would leave the country any worse of than the shape it is in now? Yes people will die, that is war, that's what it's about. But 10 years from now I see many more still alive if we go in soon, instead of waiting around and hoping all this works out and everyone can play nice afterwards. And to repeat the only people I hear yelling are crying against war. And for the majority of those I see few that really know what they are talking about. I know I don't know everything about it, I don't claim to. But the idiocy of people shouting out just to be part of a cause without knowing why at all is beyond reproach.

what Saddam has done to his country http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/mid...st/1949205.stm

off of the bbc in ref to the oil for food program

In spite of the programme, serious deprivation and malnourishment are a reality in Iraq. A Unicef report in 1997 estimated that nearly one million Iraqi children were chronically malnourished.
here's a good one http://www.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/meast/...ces/index.html and a few little pieces

U.N. documents list eight main Saddam Hussein palace compounds containing more than 1,000 buildings -- luxury mansions, smaller guest villas, office complexes, warehouses and garages -- and covering some 32 square kilometres (12 square miles) in total.
to tell ya'll the truth I don't want war, war is a horrible thing. I've been there, not in the thick of it as some have but I've seen war none the less. Nobody want's war. But when you find yourself in danger you have to defend yourself. I know, I know, I'm about to get flamed by some idiot saying "how does Iraq threaten us?". I wish to ask how much do you know of that culture. Does this sound familiar

Is there anyone who hasn’t heard that old adage of the Middle East, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”?
http://www.msnbc.com/news/633237.asp Will Iraq launch a scud and hit us in America? No. Will they aid anyone trying to harm us? I'm not sure, I'm not over there, I don't know, but culturly it not be uncommon for them to try. Think people, for yourself. Don't just listen to the news, don't just go along with the loudest voice. Find the news and the information. I tried to provide links to diffrent places so you can read this on your own. You don't agree with me, look for other sources. Many places abound on the internet. Fact is I'm pro-war for the fact Iraq needs an over-haul, we aren't safe and neither are the people of Iraq. May God bless those in battle, and shelter those who are innocent. And may Satan be ready to warmly greet those who evil.
