Keep in mind the filters are only used for Telephones, Faxes, and Standard Dialup Modems.
Do not connect your DSL Modem with a Filter in place. This will prevent you modem from connecting properly.
Also, some providers now offer DSL modems with built in 4 port routers. Unfortunately most will not help you configure it. But if it's an option get one. Save you some money down the road should you decide to share your connection.
