I agree with you in part. Windows is undoubtedly the better platform for gaming. After all, most games developed don't even give thought to being on non-windows platforms. Linux gurus will tell you that it's so much better, and you can just run Wine,
www.winehq.org or something similar to get windows apps running on linux. I happen to disagree with that, becuase I have experience using all of the above software. For someone who doesn't have a LOT of background programming and using linux, wine is a daunting task to get working.
That being said, the reason I use linux is purely based on the ability to hack at the source and build something I want that isn't in there yet. For example, a mod like the auto-on/off setup that the dashpc guys,
www.dashpc.com have would be somewhat more difficult to set up under windows, and probably much less reliable, based on how windows runs scheduled tasks.
anyway, I saw a whole other thread of linux vs. windows, so let's not get started on that here. besides, that's not what I'm saying at all. I say, use what works for you. It just happens that linux works for me.
