If you thought that just one company was tweaking its video driver settings, you were wrong. Many companies tweak there products a little. Just look at LCD panels, the contrast ratio is not also what they say on the box. Monitor makers have been changing numbers for years. A 15" crt monitor is not actually 15", it is 14.5", etc.
