Try this. Put a boot disk in the floppy (a drive and it should allow you to get to the dos prompt. Note that the boot disk should load the drivers necessary for the cdrom to work. Put the XP cd rom in the drive and try to switch to the drive that is your cd rom. d: or whatever. type setup or install. should start installing your windows XP if the drive has been formatted correctly.
