Nvidia launched its Geforce based PCI express cards. These cards utilize the new PCI Express that is found on a select few motherboards currently. Like all new interface technology the speed increase at first will be relatively small and grow in magnitude with version releases. Imagine going back to PCI based video cards and comparing them to the AGP 8.0 interface that is the current standard.
