I use brainbench aswell. I took a bunch of the cert tests back when they were all free. It did help me get a raise at my jobv
I printed out my transcript before i went in for my review and they were impressed with it. I think that they still do have a bunch of free tests. And, all of the new tests that come out are free for the first 100 test takers or something like that.
