That's because Transmeta sells chips to 4 buyers. AMD is actually selling more chips than Intel, though, with more and more of Intel's customer base switching every day.
Jason425's right, it's all about money. nVidia is probably banking on certain key segments of the market in which Intel outperforms AMD in terms of value (AMD has superior values overall). They have lost many of their buyers to ATi due to trends in the last year, and may be pursuing new markets.
