Default AMD SERVER PROGRAM NOW INCLUDE SUPERMICRO, TYAN AND UNIWIDE

-Three leading manufacturers to offer qualified AMD Opteron(tm) processor-based server platforms for global solution provider market-

SUNNYVALE, CALIF. - JAN. 24, 2006 - AMD (NYSE: AMD) today welcomed three new participants - Supermicro Computer, Inc., Tyan Computer Corporation and Uniwide Technologies, Inc. - to its Validated Server Program (VSP), broadening the program's reach in North America and Europe and into new geographical regions. AMD's VSP is designed to connect solution providers with VSP participants to obtain qualified, reliable, stable and well-supported server solutions based on single- and Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm) processors with the industry's best performance-per-watt. The three new participants are expected to introduce new platforms to be sold under the VSP banner later this quarter in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

AMD seems to be on the roll lately with its processors. Techwarelabs had the opportunity to preview Tyan's 8-Way opteron server last year at Computex so its not unexpected that they are joining the VSP program. For those financially minded among us, if you purchased AMD stock in 2003 you have enjoyed a healthly stock price increase. For those that purchased Intel, things have not gone so well as their stock price looks like a roller coaster ride. Today AMD's stock is valued at $35.47 while Intel stock is at $21.35.
