Those who like Linksys will shed a tear at Cisco's decision to terminate the brand name entirely in preference of the Cisco brand name. While this decision comes as a shock to no one who was aware of Cisco's ownership of Linksys it does forebode an increase in price for routers and switches under the new brand name Cisco for homes and small businesses. The co-branded linksys/cisco devices have been around for some time and saw an increase in quality and reliability that consumers will likely pay more for now.
Linksys goes the way of the dodo.
