Default x264 HD Benchmark Version 2.0

The x264 HD Benchmark is the "High Definition version" of the x264 Benchmark which has become a standard CPU benchmark for Tech ARP as well as many other hardware enthusiasts.

The new x264 HD Benchmark ups the ante by using a new 720p24high-definition video clip. Therefore, it will be a great test of the processor's ability to encode HD quality video streams. Give it a try and let us know how your processor fares!

This major revision which adds script detection for Windows Vista with UAC enabled and it also allows the user to re-enable UAC (if that is what you REALLY, REALLY want to do) after the benchmark completes.

Here's a quote from the article :-

"Simply put, it is a reproducible measure of fast your machine can encode a short, HD-quality video clip into a high quality x264 video file. It's nice because everyone running it will use the same video clip and software. The video encoder (x264.exe) reports a fairly accurate internal benchmark (in frames per second) for each pass of the video encode and it also uses multi-core processors very efficiently."
