Ars Technica is reporting that the Wisconsin's governor is proposing a tax for downloads. From the article: 'Wisconsin's Democratic governor thinks it's not fair that tangible items get taxed while downloads, like music, ebooks, software, etc., go completely untaxed. So, he proposes to rectify the situation by having Wisconsin's 5% state sales tax apply to Internet downloads.

and just how are they going to enforce it? are ISP's really going be on for it? I doubt this will pass, and if it does, I'm moving to Canada

or is this other kinds of downloads?

dont go to canada...there was a story recently about how it will be legal for big brother to spy on your internet activites....

true...but they cant use anything in court legally unless you are a terrorist..........

if jason was downloading child porn and talking with kids in a sexual manner online when he was 18 and the us government found him.....they couldnt touch him....because the patriot act only allows you to use the evidence for suspected terrorist links.....you need to get the other evidence legit

We don't charge for downloads, so there's nothing to be taxed.

Music downloads,ebooks,audio books,etc.......

looks at your IP and tracks it...if its in Wisconsin....tax
